How should I forward local inquiries to the national office and other regions?

The simplest way to forward local inquiries so that they will receive an info packet from the national office is to enter the information via a WWW form. There is a link to this form, labeled "Refer Prospective Members", on the member services page at

http://www.ca.lp.org/lpc-member-services.html

Using this form allows you to identify the inquiry as coming from a local rather than a national source, and to include additional information about the source. You should NOT enter local inquiries via the form intended for use by prospective members themselves (http://www.lp.org/lp-membership-iform.html), because that will make it appear that the person inquired directly via the national WWW site.

Inquiries that you enter via this form will be forwarded to local contacts in the same way as ones from the 800-number, etc., so if somebody from outside your area signs up at your fair booth, you don't need to do anything extra -- the information will automatically be forwarded to the appropriate region or state.

If you have a _large_ number of inquiries from one source (e.g., from a campaign or a big event) that have already been entered into a file of some kind, arrangements can be made to feed them into the forwarding system without re-entering them through the form. But don't "save up" inquiries to make a big file -- it is important that prospective members are contacted as soon as possible.
